Anemos Greek Estiatorio | Astoria NY

Anemos, the Greek word for Wind is the inspiration for this design. Like the full sails carry the Mediterramean wind, the ceiling design carries the eye throughout the entire space of the restaurant. The walls are paneled in horizontal wood planks depicting that of a boat’s architecture. The street side walls have floor to ceiling windows and doors that are grounded by white stone pillars, which can fully open in the warmer months allowing the outside in. A glass wine room with acrylic wine shelves and ethereal wallpaper gives the illusion of floating bottles. There is a fusion of modern simplicity and vintage Greek Island vibes. The stage sitting next to the wine room has wallpaper depicting a misty waterview, with spaced out wood planks backlip with led lighting that dances to the beat of the music. Two large bars flank the dining room with ample space for casual drinking and socializing either at the bartop or the communal tables. The hallway into the bathrooms is a perfect spot for patrons to stand by the vintage pay phone and take a picture in front of the custom “anemos “ sign. The neutral and crisp palette is carried throughout the space.

CLIENT FEEDBACK:

As an owner of multiple restaurants, my goal for this new venture was to bring forth an establishment that provided our clients with an outstanding dining & entertainment experience.   Upon hiring House of Meraki for our design needs, we were met with enthusiasm and the highest of expectations. Stevi's leadership and design execution throughout the construction process allowed the project to move quickly and efficiently. Her attention to every corner and detail of the space resulted in a perfectly cohesive and executed plan. The design was based on the concept of the restaurant Anemos "wind", portrayed in the elements throughout the space. This project has been completed and exceeded our expectations. We are happy to recommend House of Meraki and look forward to working on future projects with this talented designer.

Thank you,

M. Miltidou
