Architectural Digest featured "Leading Designers of Long Island" - January '21 AD100 Issue

Bringing in 2021 with a bang! Wow, we are honored and excited to share our feature in Architectural Digest, January 2021 AD100 issue. Featured in a brand-new section called “Leading Designers of Long Island”, we were asked to share our favorite recent projects. We selected a handful of projects in various styles to present to the reader our flexibility across any design style. During the interview, I was able to reflect on the reason I am passionate about my work as well as my story – where I started and what I have accomplished. We reflected on the lessons learned during 2020 and my goals for the future. I am truly blessed to share my Meraki with the world.

Here’s the details below:

Art Deco Library – Manhasset, NY

One of our most prized designs - we are head over heels with this eclectic library. With Carte Blanche at hand from our trusty adventurous client, we went full speed ahead with our vision to bring to life a hidden gem. Nestled in the heart of Manhasset, this charming historic home was ready for a makeover that would revive the original details and beauty. We started with brown stained walls and ceiling, and needless to say this room felt dark and uninviting. We dared to throw a bold blue paint on the walls, but as the eye wonders up, the true adventure takes over within the mystical landscapes of the wallpaper.

The rest of the room was pulled together around the wallpaper, creating a symphony of colors and textures in a cheerful dance around the room. The closet now converted to a wet bar, is a gem within a gem, giving this “library” a new purpose in life.

The walls are adorned with oversized statement sconces, the gold mirror and a pair of vintage metal collage pieces. The last piece of this puzzle was discovered in the client’s basement. A painting his grandfather created years ago from his favorite wine bottle. It is like this painting was made for this room, and now it is complete. Client and designer could not be more ecstatic by the results. In fact, we cheers in this room on occasion!

Penthouse NYC waterviews [Full Design], LIC, NY

Perfectly suited for our trendy fabulous client, this space is the ideal for gazing at the New York City-line while sipping on your cosmo. She wanted a cozy place to come home too after a hectic work day, as well as entertaining on the weekends. Wrapped with floor to ceiling windows, the panoramic view serves as the background of this design. The gray neutral colors of the cityline inspired the foundation of the room combined with moody purples and blues. To amplify the “good vibes” we introduced amethyst and sapphire gems.  The gold table and vintage-mirror bar provide a feeling of lux opulence. All in all we accomplished our goal in reflecting our client’s personality and completing a beautiful place for her to call home.

MIXED METAL BEDROOM – Astoria, NY

They say there’s a first time for everything and this will certainly go down in the books as our 1st SURPRISE design. When I met with my client, he explained to me the parameters of the project. To fully redesign and install his 3 bedroom home in time for his wife and son to return from the summer vacation. With less than a month until completion, we accepted the challenge, rolled up our sleeves and dove into work. Selecting the wallpaper for the master bedroom was the 1st step for this design. The rest of the elements were inspired by the mixed metal tones in the flowered paper, adding glam in an understated way. The goal was to design a romantic bedroom with a modern elegance. Installing the entire home two days before their arrival, was no easy task but we succeeded. Our client was able to welcome his family to a completely new home, every door with a new surprise.
